World's first liquid hydrogen carrier ship launches in Japan

Japan has launched the world’s 1st ocean-going liquid hydrogen carrier ‘Suiso Frontier’, a small step toward tapping the carbon-free energy potential of the lightest element.

It is a partnership between Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Iwatani Corporation, Shell Japan and J-Power.

It is designed to carry liquid hydrogen at minus 253 ° C produced in south coast of Australia to unload in Kobe, Japan.
