G.S. Lakshmi became the 1st woman to referee a men’s ODI
Former India cricketer G.S. Lakshmi became the 1st woman match referee to oversee a men’s ODI when she officiated the opening match of the third series of the World Cup League 2 in the United Arab Emirates.
Lakshmi oversee the match between the UAE and the USA at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
This is the 2nd significant achievement for Lakshmi this year, following her appointment as the first woman onto the ICC International Panel of Match Referees in May.

She was a right handed batswoman and right-arm fast-medium outswing bowler.
