Odd-Even scheme could be applied in Madhya Pradesh too

Madhya Pradesh Environment Minister Sajjan Singh Verma hinted that the Odd-Even scheme enforced in the national capital could be implemented in MP also.

The Odd-Even scheme is a traffic rationing measure by Arvind Kejriwal-led government under which private vehicles with registration numbers ending with an odd digit (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) will be allowed on roads on odd dates and those with an even digit (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) on even dates.

What is the Odd-Even scheme?

The Odd-Even scheme is a traffic rationing measure by the Delhi government led by Arvind Kejriwal under which private vehicles with registration numbers ending with an odd digit will be allowed on roads on odd dates and those with an even digit on even dates. Applicable in the national capital from November 4, it will be enforced until November 15 from 8 am to 8 pm. The government has announced that the scheme would be applicable to vehicles coming from other states as well. There is a huge list of exemptions as well such as women-driven vehicles, vehicles ferrying school children, two-wheelers, ministers of the Central government and the President. However, the Delhi Cabinet is adhering to the Odd-Even rules. Fines are being imposed on those violating these rules.
