Every year on 10 November is celebrated as World Science Day (World Science Day for Peace and Development).

World Science Day 2019 Theme: "Open science, leaving no one behind"

Its purpose is to underline the role of science in society.

Through this, the effect of science is to be displayed in the life of common people.

World Science Day was established by UNESCO in the year 2001, it was first celebrated in the year 2002. On this day, events are organized by many institutes across the world.

World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated to raise awareness about the contribution of science in peace and development works. On this day, programs related to various scientific activities are organized in all the science institutes, such as National and other science laboratories, science academies, schools and colleges and training institutes.
