Vietnam inaugurates Southeast Asia's largest solar power farm

Vietnam has inaugurated Southeast Asia's largest solar power farm with the capacity to produce 688 million kWh of electricity annually.

Dow Tiang Solar Power Complex, a joint venture with Thai industrial group B. Grim Power Public Company, is located on 540 hectares in Tai Ninh Province, Vietnam.

The complex is built on Vietnam's largest artificial lake, Dao Tieng Reservoir and is expected to generate 10 percent of the country's solar energy to guarantee electricity supply to 320,000 homes.

It will also prevent 595,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere every year.
