RBI will launch mobile app for the visually impaired

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will develop a mobile application aimed at helping blind people identify currency notes.

For this RBI has selected Daffodil Private Limited.

The application will be able to recognize the value of legal tender notes of Mahatma Gandhi series and Mahatma Gandhi (new) series, which will capture the image of notes placed in front of a mobile camera or scrolled on it.
