Rajnath Singh becomes 1st Defence Minister to fly LCA Tejas

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh flew in the Tejas Fighter Aircraft from HAL Airport in Bangalore, becoming the first Defense Minister to fly in an indigenously built Light Combat Aircraft (LCA).

The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) is developed by Tejas Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).

It is a fourth generation fighter aircraft with several critical capabilities and thus to strengthen India's air defense capabilities.
