Indian player Mansi Joshi has won his first gold at the BWF Para World Championships in Basel, Switzerland.
The 30-year-old Mansi has made a gold medal after beating Parul Parmar 21-12,21-7 in the women's singles final on Saturday.
Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju awarded more than Rs 1.82 crore to the medal winners of the Para-Badminton World Championship.
According to the changed policy, para-athletes will be eligible for more cash rewards.
Indian para-athletes won 12 medals at the World Championships in Basel.
Mansi also worked hard for the Para Asian Games in 2014 but was not selected. She has been winning gold medals in many international matches since that day.
